Hi everyone, we would love to introduce Margaret Wright President of NZ Association of Women in Aviation, putting the face to the name.

Flying has always been a part of my life. It all started with my father Harold Blair, who flew during World War II, owned a few light aircraft, and built the first Midget Mustang from flat metal and plans outside of the US.
In 1979 he bought ZK-DLL an American Grumman Cheetah with TT 120 hrs. As a child I often flew with my Dad and we continued to fly together in DLL, affectionately named as “DiLLy”, which is still the aircraft I own and fly today. With so many wonderful family memories over many years “DiLLy” has become part of our family. I have kept my PPL current for just over 40 years and a current member of NZAWA for 20 years. Becoming president will hopefully enable me to give something back to the flying community and I hope in some way assist other women to achieve the love of flying, either as a career or for pleasure.

For the first half of January the Youth Soaring De

For the first half of January the Youth Soaring Development camp in Omarama was full in full swing. This is a camp for teenagers and young adults to learn and develop their gliding skills! The keen aviators leant how to soar along ridges, in thermals and in the wave.
